Roman arrived in Malaysia from Slovakia over almost two decades ago, presumably for the weather. He stayed for the food, married a Malaysian, and somehow ended up running engineering organizations of 250+ people across multiple countries. Life works in mysterious ways. With 25 years of technology leadership under his belt, he made a career out of doing things the hard way - migrating entire enterprises to the cloud before it was cool, dismantling legacy systems that everyone was too afraid to touch, and convincing large organizations that DevOps is a culture, not just a Jenkins pipeline. Currently Head of Engineering at Chubb Business Services Malaysia, Roman brings a Cloud-first, DevSecOps-driven, Agile&AI-to-the-bone approach to enterprise technology. Roman is also a neurodiversity advocate, having championed one of the region's rare inclusion programs that actually moved the needle. Off the clock, Roman is a husband navigating the beautiful chaos of a Slovak-Malaysian household, a proud father of two - a son who sees the world differently and brilliantly, and a daughter who he declared a future BJJ world champion. He is here today to talk DevOps. But if you ask him about AI transformation over teh tarik, he will not stop.
